Hearth is our daytime experience at The Stag.

Inspired by the traditional hearth – the warm centre of every home where people naturally gathered – Hearth is a welcoming space built around fresh coffee, homemade bakes, simple savoury favourites and relaxed hospitality.

Whether you're staying for ten minutes or two hours, you'll always find a warm welcome waiting.

Our menu is intentionally simple, focusing on quality ingredients and homemade favourites.

Expect a daily selection including:

• Homemade fruit scones served with strawberry jam and clotted cream

• Cheese scones with whipped herb butter

• Homemade cakes

• Shortbread and seasonal traybakes

• Pork & chorizo sausage rolls

• Chicken tikka rolls

Alongside:

• Freshly brewed bean-to-cup coffee

• Yorkshire Tea

• Carefully selected speciality teas

As everything is freshly prepared, our selection may vary throughout the day—and once something has gone, it's gone.

The Stag sits just moments from Hadrian's Wall Path, making Hearth the perfect place to pause during your journey.

Whether you're walking the full National Trail, enjoying a shorter local route or exploring the beautiful North Cumbrian countryside, we're right on your way—no detour necessary.

Recharge with great coffee, homemade food and a comfortable place to rest before heading back out.

Walkers, cyclists and muddy boots are always welcome.
